What if the only way forward is to release all control?
What if the only way forward is down a big black hole?
"Journey Within" is an album born out of an experiment, an experiment necessitated by a personal crisis. Unable to write music due to a mental breakdown, the only way forward was to create without a plan, to record without thinking, to freely improvise and just let the feelings shine through. The creative process became a healing tool and an experiment in what happens when you try to go beyond your own views on how things should be and just let yourself feel, without limitations. Like the personal process it mirrors, the music is fragmented, searching and alternately light and dark.
The album features guest appearances by members from Asteroid and The Sun, The Moon & The Witch's Blues.
Slavestate Magazine gives the album 4 out of 5 and writes:
Tobias paints a story with fine tuned brush that is emotionally charged on so many levels.
