about

"Radiant Black", conceived as a rock opera in two acts, is the debut album by Daisy Pusher. It was originally released on CD-R in a limited run of 175 hand-decorated/hand-numbered copies.

The creation process was an experimental journey in recording software, taking full use of all possibilities while still keeping takes as spontaneous as possible. Much of the material was written and arranged in the DAW, the drums were programmed and the songs were more or less a patchwork of sound.

As a curiosity, the song "Black" was later used as a blueprint for the song "Black Light" by Light Screamer. New lyrics were written and the arrangement was completely new but almost all of the parts can be traced back to "Black", even though they sound quite different.

Not intended as such at the time but in hindsight this album clearly depicts the start of a spiritual journey towards liberation. The themes of the songs and the subject matter all revolve around this topic. A path which would be continued to be tread in following works, each taking a step closer to the placeless place.
