The lost album that no-one knew existed, not even the artist himself. "The Inner Piece / The New Religion" was the intended follow-up and companion album to "Journey Within". The writing process began shortly after the release of "Journey Within" and the new material continued the theme from that album. It took on a more singer-songwriter approach than the previous album and was always intended to be a more scaled back and personal affair.

During 2017, hours upon hours of material was recorded as a part of the creation process. Everything was done live in the studio with only a guitar, effect pedals and voice. At the time this material was not intended to end up on the final release. It was just intended as rehearsals for the actual recording. The plan was always to release the album in the latter part of 2017. Some songs were even performed live at the Live at Heart-festival in Örebro that year, which also happened to be the first and last live performance as Daisy Pusher.

Years went by and for some reason an album was never recorded, or so it seemed. Some of the material morphed into what was to become "indweller", released three years later. Those songs had by that time taken on a slightly different expression and considering the Daisy Pusher-moniker had been dropped, it might have seemed like very little connected the earlier material with the new. However, that all changed on May 1, 2020.

By a coincidence it was discovered, while going through the old rehearsal recordings from 2017, that lots of the material actually was in really good shape. Sprinkled across many months of recordings was several songs in a state that could never have been replicated were it to have been recorded in a planned album recording process. Just because they were only intended as rehearsals, the playing is much more relaxed and playful. Some songs are even the first improvisations of the song idea and it all just captures a true and honest performance, free from any idea that someone else will eventually hear it. This is actually how the album always was supposed to be.

Like in a twist of fate, "The Inner Piece / The New Religion" is now finally available as it was always intended. This was the process the album had to go through to come into existence, not even the performer could know of its creation. Here it is at last, like a forgotten Christmas present, the answer to the question: What happened between "Journey Within" and "Indweller"? The timeline has been restored.
